Hello! I hope you are excited for choir this year! My name is Mr. Howey and I’m the choir director for the Elementary School and the Middle School. I’m looking forward to a really joyful and music-filled year with everybody! We will have a lot of fun performing and learning, as for many of you it will be your first time ever in a Choir! We will learn about rhythm, pitch control, tone coloring, and some harmony to start you on your singing journey!
Rehearsals are held separately by grade on Tuesdays from 3:45 pm – 4:25 pm in the UTES Music Room
*Students are offered the late bus or parent pick-up after rehearsals*

All information and updates will be placed in the Elementary Choir 23-24 Google Classroom. Parents and students will be added once permission slip is turned in to Main Office.
If a student is needing to miss a rehearsal, at least 1 Week notice is expected except for emergencies. Please contact Mr. Howey as soon as you know you will not be able to attend! Home practice is expected!

Mr. Dean Packard-Howey
Hello! My name is Dean Howey and I am the Choir Director for the Elementary and Middle School Choirs here in Upper Township! I have been a middle school Music Teacher for 8 years, and have taught in Pennsylvania, Arkansas, and New Jersey. I am excited to be back here at the shore! I'm an Ocean City Alumni and couldn't be happier joining the staff in Upper Township where I grew up.
I'm a singer, songwriter, and guitarist primarily. I still perform locally and release original music. I have been involved in choir nearly my whole life, and certainly if not for the ensembles and teachers throughout my schooling, I would not be the music teacher that I am today.
I hope you will consider joining Choir in the Elementary and/or Middle School, we would love to have your voice!!
